    Job Description

R.D. Barnett PLLC is seeking a Tax Senior to join our dynamic tax team.

This role will primarily focus on providing comprehensive tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse clientele, including individuals and affiliated trusts. You will collaborate closely with fellow CPAs and staff members to ensure our clients' tax needs are met efficiently and accurately, fostering strong relationships built on trust and transparency.

In this position, you will quickly take on client assignments, with the opportunity for hands-on experience and professional growth from day one. Our culture thrives on authentic connections, mutual respect, and a commitment to supporting one another in our endeavors.

Within this role, there is the opportunity for expansion of duties and title based on work ethic and contributions made to the firm. We do not expect you to know all of the answers, but we do expect you to proactively problem-solve and form sensible solutions. To excel at our firm and find lasting satisfaction in doing so, you will exhibit these qualities:

    • Effective Communication: You possess expert written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, ensuring seamless collaboration with clients and team members.
    • Organizational Skills: You know how to manage multiple projects, tasks, documents, and files, follow up on loose ends, and readily locate a document or provide a status update.
    • Service-minded Approach: You demonstrate a desire to deliver exceptional customer experiences and are willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
    • Trustworthiness: You maintain a high level of integrity, discretion, and good judgment, safeguarding sensitive information effectively.
    • Self-motivation: You are confident in your ability to research and find answers, rather than relying on others for assistance.
    • Accountability: You understand that mistakes can occur, and you use them as opportunities for growth and improvement.
    • Proactive Mindset: You anticipate potential problems and needs, allowing you to be more efficient and provide better solutions.
    • Attention to Detail: You have impeccable documentation skills, a sharp eye, and never let important details slip through the cracks.
    • Flexibility: You adapt easily to changing circumstances and enjoy learning new things.
    • Positive Attitude: You are a team player with a sense of humor, taking the work seriously while maintaining a positive outlook.
    Responsibilities:
    • Oversee tax compliance and preparation for individuals and affiliated trusts.
    • Conduct thorough tax research and offer strategic planning advice.
    • Review and ensure accuracy of tax filings, including federal and state returns.
    • Collaborate with clients and team members to deliver exceptional results.
    • Mentor junior staff as they grow in their roles.

    Requirements:

    • CPA license or eligibility with 3+ years of public accounting experience, including tax return preparation and review.
    • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree and/or an advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation.
    • Ability to work up to 60 hours during peak periods.
    • References from prior employers/supervisors/clients.

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000-$115,000, a casual office environment, 15 vacation days, 10 holidays (7 scheduled and 3 floating), 40 hours sick leave, 2 paid volunteer days, 3% retirement match, medical and dental benefits, cell phone coverage, certification, licensing, and professional membership reimbursement, continuing education and growth opportunities, and a preference for local hires in the Seattle area.
