CLASS SUMMARY: This is the first of six levels in the Transportation series. Incumbents transport customers in a small passenger vehicle. Responsibilities may include driving a small passenger vehicle on an assigned route; inspecting assigned vehicle for cleanliness and safety; performing routine, minor vehicle maintenance; selling tickets and collecting fares; and maintaining records of activities.

Example of Duties
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Drives a small passenger vehicle for the purpose of transporting riders to applicable locations, including special events.
Performs pre- and post vehicle inspection activities to identify maintenance needs.
Performs routine cleaning activities.
Sells tickets and collects fares.
Prepares and maintains a variety of operational records and reports.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Typical Qualifications
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE(positions in this class typically require): High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Valid Driver's License with an F Endorsement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, and extreme temperatures.
