- Supports teachers by providing curriculum-based English language acquisition educational support to students in designated subject areas in all languages other than Spanish. Provides classroom assistance in the area of language acquisition as students develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in designated subject areas. Provides computer-based reading and writing instruction for students who scored below established level on standardized tests or assessments. Assists in assessment of students' reading and writing ability. Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, computer-based instruction, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods. Assists individuals and small student groups and reinforces learning concepts presented by teachers. Communicates and coordinates with students and parents about routine issues in their native language. Supervises and monitors students at assigned site and reinforces positive student behaviors and student related administration policies and rules.
