    Description

    Position Overview:

    Craft Machine is seeking a skilled Weld Engineer to join our team. The Weld Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing welding processes to ensure the production of high-quality metal components and equipment. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, materials science, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and optimize welding processes to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in the production of metal components.
    • Create and maintain welding procedures, specifications, and standards in compliance with industry codes and customer requirements.
    • Oversee and support the setup and operation of welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques.
    • Conduct welding inspections and tests to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop weldment designs and ensure manufacturability.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve welding issues, implementing corrective actions to maintain production efficiency and quality.
    • Train and mentor welders, providing guidance on best practices and techniques to improve skills and productivity.
    • Evaluate and select appropriate materials, welding methods, and equipment for specific projects.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of welding procedures, inspections, and quality records.
    • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Weld Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
    • Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and resistance welding.
    • Strong knowledge of welding standards, codes, and best practices (e.g., AWS, ASME).
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with team members and training welders.
    • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and procedures.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
    • Stamina to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods during welding operations.
    • Visual acuity and attention to detail for inspecting welds and components.
