    Job Summary

    Responsible for keeping the Cerner Millennium System running at peak performance with the primary objectives of client satisfaction and system uptime.

    Ensures ease of maintenance, application performance, and compatibility with existing systems. Provides technical direction and guidance to consultants and offers counsel to other team members and Hospital staff.

    BS in Computer Sciences/Information Systems/related field or at least 8 years of experience in Information Technology in systems development and design.

    3 years of experience in Cerner Millennium solutions implementation.
    5 years of experience in Information Technology systems development, design, and implementation.
    Qualifications
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Responsible for keeping the system running with the primary objectives of client satisfaction & system uptime. Ensures ease of maintenance, performance, & compatibility with existing systems.
    Provides technical direction and guidance to consultants and offers counsel to other team members and Hospital staff.

    Evaluates, designs, codes, tests, and implements custom or vendor supplied systems software to effectively respond to the business and clinical requirements.

    Design system architecture and strategy leveraging best practice configuration to meet the business and functional requirements.
    Ensures the integration of all Cerner solutions as well as downstream systems.
    Lead or assist integration testing for all upgrades or major projects.
    Analyze and resolve complex issues that impact the electronic medical record following service level agreement timeline.
    Responsible for domain strategy providing periodic review and communication.
    Provide application support and participate in on-call rotation.
    Participate in design and process changes regarding the electronic medical record.
    Provide technical, CCL, and HL7 knowledge or work effort as needed.
    Develops and coordinates comprehensive test plans.
    Documents all work per IT standards and process including change management.
    Works effectively on project teams and meets deadlines in accordance to project manager's expectations.
    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    Ability to analyze and resolve complex application systems problems.
    Provide resolutions/recommendations.
    Ability to forge strong working partnerships within Information Technology as well as all stakeholders across the enterprise.
    Ability to work at an enterprise perspective.
    Excellent verbal communications and customer-relations skills.
    Excellent written skills and experience with documentation of issues and resolutions.
