Job DescriptionHighfields, Inc. began in 1962 as a residential camp for troubled boys in Ingham County. Our founders truly believed that with right opportunities and resources, people can change their lives for the better. Since then, we have taken our organization to new levels. We serve about 8,000 people in 13 mid-Michigan counties and are currently seeking a qualified Home-based Family Clinician for our Home-based Counseling Program serving clients in Jackson and/or Hillsdale Counties.
Home-based therapy takes place at the home of the family rather than in an office. A principle advantage of home-based services is that the clinician has the opportunity to observe clients in their "natural" environment. Many clients are more relaxed in their own space and this allows for the relationship between client and clinician to be establish more quickly.
Services provided are during traditional and non-traditional hours allowing for a flexible schedule. You are not expected to be in the office when not serving clients. All paperwork and documentation may be performed remotely.
To do well in this role, you will need to have a strong background in infant and youth counseling and mental health You should have a master's degree and a current LARA license in counseling, or the ability to obtain. Interpersonal skills are necessary to gain client trust, along with excellent communication, and a passion for helping others. Experienced in evidence-based treatment models and person-centered planning.
