    Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    Accurately completes respiratory assessments and provides prescribed therapies on a timely basis, according to the specialty area on an age-specific basis.

    Provides prescribed therapies on a timely basis, on an age-specific basis, according to the specialty area and established department guidelines.

    Evaluates and accurately documents result of respiratory therapy actions, on an age-specific basis according to the specialty area.
    Accurately sets up, monitors, and maintains mechanical ventilation on a timely basis according to the specialty area.

    Accurately completes respiratory assessments and provides prescribed therapies on a timely basis, according to the specialty area on an age-specific basis.

    Provides prescribed therapies on a timely basis, on an age-specific basis, according to the specialty area and established department guidelines.

    Evaluates and accurately documents result of respiratory therapy actions, on an age-specific basis according to the specialty area.
    Accurately sets up, monitors, and maintains mechanical ventilation on a timely basis according to the specialty area.

    Communicates with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient progress and recommends changes in therapy modalities according to established department guidelines.

    Demonstrates the ability to proficiently obtain and analyze blood gas specimens accurately according to established department guidelines on an age specific basis.

    Demonstrates the ability to proficiently perform skin testing accurately, assess results and reported on a timely basis according to the specialty area on an age specific basis.

    Properly maintains equipment with complete accurate documentation as required in all areas of respiratory care according to established department guidelines.

    Monitors staffing, work and equipment room areas on a regular basis.
    Provides helpful, accurate patients' family education on a timely and age specific basis according to the specialty area.
    Performs other duties as required or assigned.


    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    RequiredAssociate's Degree required.
    Required to be a Certified or Registered Respiratory TherapistMust be certified by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy.
    Must have current Massachusetts State License.
    Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS) and NRP certification are required. Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) and neonatal resuscitation (NRP). PreferredOne year experience preferredMeditech and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
