    We are seeking a positive, compassionate, customer service-focused team member for the Director of Nursing position.

    Job Summary:


    Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, budgeting, management of facilities, people, supplies and equipment in such a way that meaningful nursing service is established to render the optimum of resident care.


    Responsibilities:
    Establish objectives for the department of nursing and the organizational structure for achieving these objectives.

    Guide nursing personnel in the development of personal and professional objectives and in the setting of unit goals consistent with those established by the Nursing Service Department.

    Interpret and implement administrative policies and standards as established by the governing authorities.
    Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations in all areas of nursing care.
    Develop and/or approve all Nursing Service policies.
    Plan, organize, and direct nursing personnel in fulfilling their responsibilities for nursing service.
    Educate nurse leaders on their budgeted allowance and cost containment of unit.
    Identify staffing needs. Source, hire, supervise, monitor, evaluate and provide direction to direct reports, as needed.
    Provide professional growth and development; develop and communicate goals and objectives.
    Monitor and provide constructive feedback; Review work performance of nursing personnel on an ongoing basis.
    Approve nursing payroll each pay period.
    Plan, organize, and implement the QAPI in cooperation with Morningside Ministries guidelines.
    Maintain awareness of internal operating management policies.
    Develop, train, and lead staff in an environment of customer service.
    Seek new ideas and foster an environment of trust with staff, residents and families.
    Act in the absence of the Administrator when so designated.
    Coordinate liaison activities between the Nursing Department and other disciplines.
    Act as a participating member of the Quality Assurance, Infection Control, and Safety Committees.

    Analyze and evaluate nursing and related services to improve the quality of resident care and maximize nursing time and abilities.

    Responsible for timely and accurate completion of the M.D.S., 3652, Health Care Plan, and the Resident Medical Records.
    Make daily rounds in the facility for the purpose of visibility, assessment and evaluation of care.
    Effectively develop and maintain relationships with residents and their family members, staff, and physicians.
    Maintain compliance with all Morningside Ministries' policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
    Assist, guide and support supervisors with employee selection, review, evaluation and terminations.
    Conduct staff meetings regularly; attend staff meetings and training as required.
    Develop emerging leadership through professional growth and development.
    Work successfully as a part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers.
    Travel as needed to monitor, assess and help develop programs.
    Perform general office tasks as required.
    Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    Education :
    Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

    Training and Experience :
    Two years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical care setting. Management experience preferred.

    Certifications and Licenses :
    State licensed as a Registered Nurse or in accordance with the Board of Nurse Examiners rules for Nurse Licensure Compact (NCL), current State Driver's License

    Skills :
    Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Good interpersonal skills. Proof of Current CPR.
