    DIRECTOR OF GRANTS MANAGEMENT

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Planning, this individual will be responsible for managing a full portfolio of grant projects, including all phases of the grant process, from research to application development and compliance reporting.

    The Director of Grants Management will serve as a liaison between clients, stakeholders, and funding organizations; and will supervise the Technical Writing and Data Manager.

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Oversee the delivery of high-quality service and ensure that projects and deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.


    Lead the grants management practice of the planning/community development department, including managing employees in a way that contributes to the success of the team.


    Build strong, working relationships with local government officials, company executives, vendors, agencies, and partners to promote an integrated approach to grants development.


    Manage the life cycle of grants, from prospect research through writing applications, concept papers, proposals, agreement execution, compliance reporting, and outcome measurement on behalf of the clients we serve.


    Oversee and maintain systems for tracking grant deliverables, meeting deadlines, engaging staff from across the organization, and driving the continued cultivation of prospects.

    Manage grant timelines and ensure that deadlines are met with quality work.


    Contribute to a high-performing team, including media professionals, community leaders, agencies, contractors and others to meet strategic goals and business objectives for clients.


    Organize and prepare professional and technical studies, analysis, and reports, including conducting background research, utilizing data from a variety of sources, performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, and make recommendations aligned with long-range and current planning and economic development initiatives.


    Manage communications with necessary stakeholders for grant projects, ensuring all pieces of the application are received and compiled appropriately for submission.


    Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; ability to adapt to changing priorities and to work smoothly and cooperatively on a variety of projects with accuracy and attention to detail.

    Improve existing procedures for collecting and organizing information from grants development clients.


    Work with the Government Relations department to brainstorm grant funding opportunities based on legislation passed by the General Assembly and federal agencies.


    Assist with the development of community-based projects, including analyzing data, facilitating public engagement activities, preparing reports, and drafting plans for a variety of clients and projects.

    Assist in quality control measures for the company.


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's degree in public administration, communications, professional or technical writing, or related degree.


    Minimum of five (5) years of experience in grant writing, development and monitoring, preferably in municipal, state or federal setting.

    Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

    Experience in researching grants and knowledge of grants development.

    Certifications in grant writing (e.g. CDBG certified, etc.) or desire to become certified.


    PREFERRED SKILLS


    Determined, resourceful, effective, and persistent problem-solver who is able to work well under tight timelines, exercise good judgement, and meet deadlines.


    Experience writing highly technical or creative narratives for a broad array of audiences, including state/federal government, foundations, private donors, etc.

    Impeccable attention to detail.

    Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with diverse stakeholders and explain complex concepts succinctly to drive clarity and action.

    Proofreading and editing.

    Extensive understanding and working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and/or Creative Cloud

    Pay:
    $50, $65,000.00 per year
