ALAMEDA FAMILY SERVICES
Alameda Family Services (AFS) is a progressive, non-profit agency that provides clinically sophisticated, comprehensive mental health and early childhood educational services to individuals and families in the City and County of Alameda. Divisions include: Early Childhood & Family Support, School Based Services, Crisis Services and Clinic and Community Based Behavioral Health Care (Counseling and a Clinical Training Program). One of Alameda Family Services' core values is fostering wellbeing. This focus on wellbeing provides a philosophical orientation for our work and guides our daily practice. As an agency that is deeply rooted in Alameda, we are constantly striving to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients, families, and community. We cultivate self-care, professional growth, and a family-like work environment.
Crisis Services Division
This division encompasses clinical consultation and follow up clinical case management services for the Alameda CARE Team mobile crisis response, Enhanced Care Managers for youth and families, and therapists placed in transitional housing programs supporting the mental health and well being of residents.
Youth Spirit Artworks
Youth Spirit Artworks (YSA) was established in 2007 to empower and transform the lives of hard-to-reach, marginalized, underserved young people, giving them the skills, experience, and self-confidence to meet their full potential. YSA engages participants aged 16-25 in an arts-focused youth leadership curriculum that provides a stipend at our Berkeley location and offers housing and wraparound services for transition-aged youth at our Tiny House Empowerment Village (THEV) in Oakland. We aim to motivate and engage youth by strengthening peer-to-peer relationships in an inclusive community of youth with lived experience, providing a financial incentive to participate, and helping participants meet their health and wellness needs. The majority of our current youth participants are primarily BIPOC from low-income households.

Under the supervision of the Alameda Family Services Crisis Services Division Director, this position is responsible for providing on-site, strength-based, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive individual and group therapy, as well as crisis de-escalation and milieu support to Youth Spirit Artworks' residents. This position will be co-located on the Youth Spirit Artworks campus in Oakland and will provide direct service and workshops to the residents living there and the YSA staff. Documentation, meetings, and supervision will be conducted at either Alameda Family Services in the City of Alameda or remotely.
