    Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

    Part-Time and PRN in Lawrenceville, GA - Gwinnett County

    As a Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist, here's a big-picture view of what you'll do:

    • Provide in house speech therapy to patients having communication, swallowing or cognitive difficulties due to an illness or injury
    • Work as part of a home health team which may include an RN, LPN, CNA, HHA, PT and OT, focused on the patient's plan of care and established goals
    • Observe and evaluate a patient's ability to communicate, swallow and process information
    • Conduct patient assessments, document progress and ensure patient goals are met
    • Assist with mouth, breathing and swallowing exercises, fluency, articulation and reading
    • Educate patient and family on plan of care, therapy goals, safety practices and self-care

    A few must-haves for Home Health Speech-Language Pathologists:

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active SLP license in GA
    • In the last 5 years a minimum of 2 years of speech therapy experience in home healthcare
    • HCHB charting experience
    • CPR certification, negative ppd screening or chest x-ray
    • Drivers license, reliable transportation & auto insurance
    • Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations
    • Good clinical judgement /proficiency, strong communication skills, dexterity and compassion
    • Able to pass federal and state required criminal / abuse background checks and drug screen
