Job Description
Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law's Library seeks an innovative, enthusiastic, and service-driven individual to serve as a Public Services Librarian.
Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, the Public Services Librarian provides legal reference, research and instructional services to the LMU community.
The Public Services Librarian is the liaison to faculty and student-facing library activities, providing reference assistance and legal research instruction.
Additionally, the Public Services Librarian will teach various legal research classes and potentially other classes.Required Qualifications
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and experience in an academic law library. Master of Library and Information Science degree from an ALA-accredited program, or significant graduate-level coursework toward such a degree
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in law libraries, practice experience, and teaching or training experience.

The Public Services Librarian provides sophisticated research and reference assistance to LMU students and faculty, legal research instruction to LMU students and faculty via workshops and guest lectures, and provides research assistance to faculty and their RAs.

This position will also teach for-credit courses in the law school curriculum, including but not limited to legal research.

The Public Services Librarian serves as the liaison to student organizations to develop programming and provide services to best meet these group's needs.

Additionally, this position is tasked with creating instruction, resources, and assistance to faculty in their scholarship and classroom support needs.

The Public Services Librarian contributes to the library's strategic initiatives and participates in the planning and implementation of new library programs and procedures.

This position requires participation in the life of the law school by attending events and volunteering for projects and committees, while also performing other duties as assigned.
Job Duty
As a member of the faculty, the Public Services Librarian will also serve as a member of several committees each year (as appointed by the Dean), be responsible for attending faculty meetings and meet all other requirements expected of the faculty.
