    Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

    This position is in Colorado Springs, CO.


    Position Overview:

    As part of the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) the Warfighter Simulation and Services (WSS) team offers opportunities to support the U.S.

    Missile Defense System through the development of Modeling and Simulation applications used in warfighter training and exercises, concept evaluation, developmental engineering, testing and verification, and assessment.

    The selected Engineering Manager will support the Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASim) and the Missile Defense Space Warning Tool (MDST) projects on the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC).

    This role encompasses functional management within the program but does not include a technical role on the program.

    Candidates must have, or be able to obtain, a technical role on an existing program within LMDS located at COCO5.

    The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance.

    He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business.

    Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must.

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading Engineering teams.

    This role will manage a team of engineers from multiple disciplines in ensuring program needs are met.


    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree and 3 years experience; or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering discipline
    Experience in missile defense modeling and simulation.
    Proven demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    This position requires US citizenship and an active Secret clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years' experience with Agile software development cycle.
    Minimum 5 years' experience with systems engineering or software testing

    $115,000 - $172,600 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
