- Providing visible, on-site program management in all eight regions for the Arts Across the Prairie Program.
- Budget oversite, management, and tracking.
- Coordinating project fundraising at local, regional, and national levels.
- Identifying and communicating with potential stakeholders, contractors, and other business services as needed.
- Assisting with artist team selection, site selection and securing land (private or possibly public property), for the installation placement (land surveys, permits, securing property, etc.).
- Communicating and collaborating with the State Historical Society Preservation Office, ND National Guard, the ND Department of Transportation, and other project stakeholders.
- Performing routine checks of the art and coordinating maintenance and repairs of the art as needed.
- Four (4) years professional high-level work experience performing placemaking, grantmaking, coordination of community events, strategic community planning or project management with some fundraising experience; or a Bachelor's degree and two years' experience as listed above.
- Valid driver's license & ability to drive.
- Experience using Google Docs and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

NDCA offers a unique and rewarding career, with a team of eight. The position includes 100% employer paid single health insurance. No paid leave provided. This fulltime position is funded through June 2025, with the opportunity for a two-year renewal, based on Legislative appropriation.
Summary of Work:
The Arts Across the Prairie Program Manager will lead the first-of-its-kind statewide public rural art program, to create eight large-scale public art works, one in each of the eight rural geographic regions across ND. The art created through this community-driven initiative will reflect and celebrate the unique history, landscape, and distinctiveness of the individual region, while celebrating the cultural heritage and identity of the individual areas and promoting civic pride .
The individual filling this position will have the unique opportunity to coordinate this initiative to fruition, with public and private partnerships throughout the state, providing a national model for this type of creative placemaking. Having strong visionary, strategic planning, multi-tasking, and communication skills will allow this position to work collaboratively with other state agencies and local community partners. Fostering these positive, creative relationships will both support the NDCA's role as a rural development partner.
This position is responsible for:
Requires high-level communication, collaboration, organization, prioritization, decision making and planning skills. Must be able to work independently, think strategically, multitask, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail. Work is expected to be performed with a high degree of professionalism, respect, and integrity. This position reports to NDCA's Executive Director and works in tandem with an Installation consultant (site preparation and installation). There is p/t administrative support for this position.
