    Description

    Nursing Aide

    Under direct supervision of the onsite nurse, this role provides direct care and assistance with activities of daily living. The primary function is to assist in creating a nurturing home environment for Elders by delivering timely and quality medication pass support.

    This position works cooperatively with Elders, coworkers, families, medical staff, visitors and volunteers to create a positive environment that promotes hope dignity love. Key responsibilities include administering prescribed medications as per MD orders maintaining related medical records under direct supervision and ensuring residents who are unable to call for help receive regular checks on their status determining how best to assist them.

    The successful candidate will be able to understand written verbal communication interact effectively professionally with residents family members coworkers work independently under direct supervision lift manipulate heavy objects understand follow safety policies procedures acquire necessary skills knowledge successfully pass required state certification exam use various healthcare supplies equipment including blood pressure devices thermometers wheelchairs lifts etc relate work with ill elderly disabled emotionally upset combative people within facility respond resident needs timely professional manner recognizing resident rights deal stressful situations death dying maintain confidentiality all resident care information according St Johns Policy Confidentiality Resident Rights identify report correct obvious safety hazards utilize proper body mechanics when transferring residents wear use safety equipment supplies gait belts mechanical lifts personal protective equipment provide exceptional customer service adhering St Johns Guidelines Customer Service*
