- As a SQL Database Administrator supporting our Azure infrastructure project, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of our cloud-based SQL database solutions. You will collaborate closely with our development, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our database environment.
- Design and implement Azure SQL Database solutions to support business requirements and project objectives.
- Configure and manage Azure SQL Database instances, including provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Develop and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies for Azure SQL databases to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize database schema design, query performance, and indexing strategies.
- Monitor database performance metrics and proactively identify and address issues to maintain optimal performance and availability.
- Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data stored in Azure SQL databases.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using Azure Automation, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
- Work closely with the infrastructure team to integrate Azure SQL Database solutions with other cloud services and on-premises systems.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator with a focus on Azure cloud services.
- Strong proficiency in SQL query language and database management systems, particularly Azure SQL Database.
- Experience with Azure PaaS services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, etc.
- Knowledge of database design principles, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security best practices.
- Familiarity with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other Azure management tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Azure certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect are a plus.
