    Job Summary:

    We are seeking an accomplished and well-rounded Executive with deep sales, operational and transformational experience, who is looking to become the General Manager of a private equity backed, high-growth middle market business in the arena of Charging solutions for battery-powered industrial vehicles.

    The General Manager will provide leadership to all aspects of the company's operations with an emphasis on long-term goals, growth, profit, and return on investment. The GM will be part of the executive leadership team, and responsible for executing a core piece of the investment thesis. The company is backed by the private equity firm Transom Capital Group ("Transom" or "TCG").

    Transom is a leading Los Angeles-based private equity firm focused on operationally intensive investments in the middle-market. The TCG team has a proven track record of investing in, restructuring, and growing businesses. Transom subscribes to a partnership-oriented investment model and invests in companies that exhibit great potential which can be unlocked via its operational approach to value creation.     Responsibilities:

    The General Manager of the Industrial Charging business unit will work in conjunction with the other members of the executive team (of the broader Group and of the business unit itself) to develop and achieve all financial and operational objectives. This individual will bring a keen appreciation to driving short- and long-range objectives (incl. EBITDA targets) while implementing plans consistent with the Company's strategic and financial goals and overall company mission.

    To be successful in this role, you will need a proven track record of successfully driving transformational change while being an inspirational people leader, strong cross-functional collaborator, an outstanding communicator, and strategic thinker. The General Manager will provide the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the Company has the proper plans, people, systems, and data-driven culture in place to achieve its financial and value creation objectives.

    • Business strategy – Serve as a strategic partner to the Group executive leadership team and the Board of Directors to develop the Business Unit's vision, mission, and overall corporate strategy, and lead and measure against key transformation initiatives for the Industrial Charging Business Unit.
    • Sales & Marketing – Lead the Sales & Marketing function of Industrial Charging Business Unit, both driving the continuous improvement of the go-to-market strategy, as well as spearheading sales execution (incl. customer service) and optimizing salesforce effectiveness.
    • R&D, Operations, etc. – Provide oversight and leadership to non-Sales & Marketing functions = including R&D, Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain management. Drive coordination and execution between these functions.
    • Stakeholder management – Build trusting relationships with key partners and stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, etc. and act as a key point of contact for strategic engagement with channel partners.
    • Transformation – Provide leadership to the transformational program and build a relentless engine for execution of the transformation initiatives.
    • Corporate discipline – Establish a data driven culture with disciplined ownership and accountability for achieving the corporate objectives, where strategic options and overall resource allocation are evaluated based on ROI.
    • Cash & Working Capital Management – Lead the Business Unit regarding management of working capital, including improving policies and implementing initiatives to optimize working capital (i.e., AR, INV and AP).
    • Financial Planning & Analysis – Work with the Group CFO and his team to improve management reporting capabilities. Complete analysis to understand the drivers of performance for various processes, customers, products, and business segments. Track through the development of KPIs and use leading indicators to support strategic decisions.
    • Data & Trend Analysis – Work with the Group CFO to spearhead data-driven business planning and analysis; forecasting; and budgeting.
    • Back office – Optimize back office operating structure and leverage the Group infrastructure and resources as much as possible.
    • Cross-functional thought partnership – Leverage functional expertise, infrastructure and resources from the Group.

    Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will be a disciplined, take-charge person with cross functional and P&L ownership experience. The successful candidate will have a track record of optimizing team performance and is committed to driving the company's overall results. More specifically, the General Manager will require the following qualifications and experience:

    • Currently operating as General Manager or CEO, with 15-20 years of senior management roles with progressive responsibility of which at least 5 years in a Sales leadership position.
    • P&L experience with a business generating at least $50M in revenue.
    • Experience in the Industrial Charging space is a plus.
    • Experience in managing an R&D heavy business is a plus.
    • Demonstrable experience in implementing vision, developing profitable strategies strengthening processes and systems, and driving Opex reduction.
    • An ability to operate both on the strategic and tactical levels within an organization. A "hands-on" individual who is willing to "roll up" his/her sleeves as necessary.
    • Pragmatic, enterprising, motivated, and resilient with the drive, enthusiasm, personal urgency and commitment necessary to inspire the company to "get things done".
    • Strong business acumen with decision-making skills to lead and shape the company's strategy.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions. based on accurate and timely analyses.
    • Transformational experience.
    • Experience in managing costs and liquidity, including 13-week cashflow forecasts.
    • Proven track record of developing and monitoring of KPI's.
    • Proficient in recruiting and retaining top talent, building a team from the ground floor, etc.
    • High level of integrity and dependability and is results oriented.
    • Preference for experience working with a private equity owned company and familiarity with external reporting requirements (i.e., board of directors, 3rd party lenders, etc.).
