    Position Summary
    The primary purpose of this position is to support the accreditation, tracking, and academic compliance efforts of the University including, but not limited to, the Higher Learning Commission University Accreditation and NC-SARA.

    This position offers a hybrid remote schedule.
    Job Description
    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    University Accreditation/Higher Learning Commission (HLC)

    Stay apprised of HLC communications and attend annual HLC conference to ensure HLC's policy and procedure changes are identified and implemented within the University, including the areas of:
    Open Pathways
    Criteria for Accreditation
    Substantive changes
    Federal Compliance (U.S. Department of Education mandates monitored via HLC)
    Monitor and assess HLC compliance across University.
    Develop strategies to communicate HLC compliance to the University community, including:
    Advise University administration and schools on HLC compliance
    Serve as a resource to the University community regarding questions pertaining to accreditation
    Act as the central point-of-contact regarding accreditation for the University community
    Oversee University HLC Substantive Change applications.
    Collect and analyze data from all schools and administration for the HLC Annual Institutional Data Report.
    Build and maintain a strong relationship with key HLC personnel.
    Create and continually monitor timelines to ensure the University meets HLC mandatory deadlines.
    Annual Institutional Updates
    Assurance arguments and Evidence filing
    Quality Initiative proposal and report
    Federal compliance filing
    Substantive Change applications
    Other reports as requested by HLC
    Draft HLC sub-committee charges.
    Develop sub-committee training strategies on HLC evaluation processes, roles and responsibilities.
    Oversee the administration of the HLC on-line Assurance System (Chancellor appointed position).
    Manage Washington University accreditation website.
    Plan and implement the HLC peer reviewer site visits.
    Participate in University-wide assessment initiatives.
    NC-SARA

    Collect and organize data about distance education opportunities offered by Washington University.
    Collect and organize data about out-of-state learning placements occurring within the schools.
    Serve as the primary contact for NC-SARA.
    Develop and maintain a webpage for NC-SARA.
    Develop strategies to communicate NC-SARA compliance to the University community.
    Work closely with the Office of the Registrar and Sunrise team to advocate for standardized tracking and reporting mechanisms.
    Continuously review NC-SARA guidelines for changes and updates.
    New Degree/Major Modifications

    Responsible for the collection and document maintenance of new degree proposals, major modifications to existing offerings, and closure of programs.
    Develop a robust website with information related to the new degree and major modification processes, an electronic form for intake, and a workflow process to approve the materials.
    Liaise with school representatives throughout the review process.
    Review the degree proposals and major modifications for any obvious deviations for best practices in financial aid, registration and enrollment, admissions, etc. and coordinate with campus partners as needed.
    Develop executive summaries for the Provost complete with anticipated implications and recommendations for consideration.
    Create a historical repository of new degree information.
    Develop a communications plan for dissemination of new degree programs to the university community with targeted messaging to student services offices.
    Board of Trustees, Academic Affairs Committee

    Attend Academic Affairs Committee meetings and generate confidential minutes from the meetings.
    Format and edit minutes in a timely fashion.
    Generate a meeting summary for broader Board of Trustees consumption.
    Interact with the chair of the committee and maintain strict confidentiality.
    Liaise with the Board of Trustee secretaries and other relevant leaders.
    Other Projects and Initiatives

    Anticipated projects include reporting efforts for graduate professional organizations.
    Coordination with Institutional Effectiveness as needed.
    Special projects related to federal, state, or institutional compliance in conjunction with partner offices (such as Registrar, Financial Aid, etc.).
    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
    Experience with regulatory compliance reporting.
    Experience with institutional accreditation, preferably the Higher Learning Commission.
    Experience working in a highly decentralized environment.
    Ability to think systemically, identify stakeholders and balance needs and points-of-view.
    Ability to work independently and assume significant decision making responsibilities - planning, execution, completion and monitoring.
    Ability to succinctly summarize project work, contextualize problems, and offer solutions.
    Ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated creative solutions.
    Ability to manage resources, timelines and budgets.
    Strong collaboration and communication skills.
    Proficiency in investigating and interpreting HLC accreditation policies and processes.
    Ability to anticipate, plan, organize, and complete tasks; be able to envision processes and anticipate needs; act on these processes.
    Sensitivity to and demonstrated skill at working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WordPress, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Photoshop.
    Required Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree.
    Seven years in demonstrated project management or program management experience.
    Extensive and detailed knowledge of academic and administrative structure of the University and all its constituent parts.
    Successful history managing complex projects with a broad stakeholder community.
    Outstanding written communication skills.
    Knowledge and ability to develop and deliver visually appealing and engaging presentations.

    Salary Range
    $57, $97,700.00 / Annually
    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
