We're in search of an exceptional individual—a seasoned expert or engineer—imbued with a deep reverence for environmental and natural sciences. Above all, candidates must possess stellar communication skills and a knack for interpreting and analyzing data. Your primary objective will be to ensure our unwavering compliance with federal, state, and local regulations within a power plant setting.

This is a long-term contract position (eligible for extension or direct hire for the right candidate) that offers a starting pay rate of $34/hour (benefits are available).

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive field environmental inspections encompassing waste, water, and air systems.
- Manage environmental management systems and blueprints, pinpointing hazardous sites, chemical inventories, and handling complaint investigations.
- Execute spill prevention programs and oversee compliance with hazardous waste regulations.
- Devise and propose strategies to mitigate pollution and environmental risks effectively.
- Gather samples of waste, soil, and water as necessary for analysis.
- Serve as the liaison for environmental compliance matters at the power plant.

Requirements:

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable capacity (including power plant technician/engineering roles or environmental compliance positions).
- Exhibit proficiency in regulatory requirements, their interpretations, and adeptness in health and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate quick problem-solving skills, complemented by advanced conflict resolution capabilities.
- Showcase exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Display outstanding analytical prowess.
