    The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for support of applications and servers deployed throughout our Enterprise environment. The position will be highly collaborative, working with all county departments, technical staff and vendors. The position requires experience in application support, server support, desktop support and customer service.

    Applicants must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written); sound judgment; and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.


    NATURE AND VARIETY OF WORK

    We are seeking someone who has the ability to understand applications from both the technical implementation and infrastructure side, as well as end-user functionality, and who has experience working with various application types (SaaS, IaaS, Server/Client, Thick Client, etc).

    Assist with ensuring all server systems are fully patched and cyber security threats are mitigated wherever possible to include hardware, firmware, OS and SQL security updates, application updates and cyber threat recommendations.

    Applicants must be detail oriented, have an understanding of IT systems development lifecycle and continuous process improvement methodologies, and possess organizational and problem solving skills.

    This applicant will work with staff to identify, troubleshoot, manage and drive troubleshooting issues through final resolution. This is a technical position and will require some application and environment configuration, troubleshooting and deployment support.

    Provide primary support to the Operations Server Team to include support of all server and enterprise infrastructure environments
    Provide backup support to the Operations Server Team to include support of all server and enterprise infrastructure environments
    Maintain server and application inventories to ensure that all pertinent information is up to date
    Assist with server backup and restoration activities to ensure reliability of backups
    Assist with server patching and cyber security threat mitigation
    Provide higher tier end-user support, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure quality control of related systems and environments
    Implements and maintains purchased or leased software program products; conducts on-the-job training; works closely with OIT customers
    Develop system documentation such as training guides, architectural/interface diagrams or other support documentation
    Technical competency in managing the day-to-day operations of information systems and its interfaces.
    Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS. AND ABILITIES
    Considerable knowledge of modern techniques in the implementation and maintenance of computer operating systems and other generalized software.
    Considerable knowledge of the functions and capabilities of electronic data processing equipment In an Industrial setting.
    Knowledge of Industrial control and communication equipment to include planning, implementation, and maintenance of communication systems.
    Skill in operating personal computers. Electronic control equipment and the use of related computer languages.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both technical and administrative staff within all levels of the organization.

    Ability to make oral and written reports.
    Minimum Qualifications


    Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in mathematics, public or business administration, or a related field, including or supplemented by specialized training in electronic data processing, programming, operations, and methodologies; and one or more years experience in telecommunications, computer operating systems, and data base management.

    The graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in mathematics, public or business administration, or a related field, including or supplemented by specialized training in electronic data processing, programming, operations, and methodologies may be substituted on a year for year basis with experience electronic data processing, programming, operations, and related experience; this is in addition to the one (1) or more years experience in telecommunications, computer operating systems, and data base management.
