- Performs advanced welding activities with minimum instructions and supervision
- Interprets complex blueprints, manufacturing drawing and written work instructions, as well as reads and interprets AWS welding symbols
- Sets up welding equipment in accordance with the appropriate Weld Process Specifications (WPS)
- Completes weldments to the applied AWS welding code and blueprint requirements
- Positions weldment details in location using fixtures, jigs, tape measure, square, rule, and caliper to meet blueprint, manufacturing drawings and quality requirements
- Observes and practices safety procedures and policies
- Perform and meet all Qualification requirements Per AWS D17.1/D17.1 (class A requirements) which includes qualifying to base metal groups: 4130 , 17.7 PH, 718, and Aluminum Alloys, thickness and position for both groove and fillet welds.
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in Aerospace welding
- Strong understanding of Fusion welding procedures & processes
- Must have experience working with aerospace materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols
- Ability to produce welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test
- Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, squares, rules and dial calipers)
- Basic math skills; must be able to perform conversions and basic calculations
- Knowledge of welding machines and set up
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Must comply with Jager-2 Vision test compliance
