Job Summary
The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking Patient Care Technicians for the Medical Surgical Oncology Unit within the Medical Surgical Services Division.We are looking for individuals who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to independently obtain and record vital signs providing medical asepsis when performing skills and tasks assisting with patient admission transfers and discharges directly providing for patients' personal hygiene and comfort transporting patients equipment specimens and supplies feeding patients serving drinking water and nourishments recording patients intake participating in nursing care conferences reporting pertinent patient information incidents to nurse in charge sharing responsibility for preparation proper use care of equipment supplies neatness cleanliness unit may assemble maintain equipment supplies preparation diagnostic or treatment procedures performed by physicians nurses cleaning areas designated guidelines standards demonstrating proper use approved disinfectants cleaning products housekeeping equipment stock supply patient rooms nursing units percent time hours week schedule day shifts weekend holiday rotation location Iowa City IA merit pay plan pay level 5 benefits highlights regular salaried position located Iowa City fringe benefit package paid vacation sick leave health dental life disability insurance options generous employer contributions retirement plans minimum eligibility requirements ability read write follow instructions desired requirements CNA resume required part application process posting multiple openings posted calendar days end posting period candidates reapply considered additional openings successful candidates self disclose conviction history subject criminal background check credential education verification up professional references requested later step recruitment process questions additional information please contact Tiffany Perkins tiffany- position eligible university sponsorship employment authorization
