    Administrative Assistant to the Dean
    College of Education - Tahlequah Campus


    Job Summary

    - Manages office operations for department as assigned.

    Major Duties

    • Supports college leadership for office operations; delegates, assigns, or provides secretarial support
    • Coordinates development of program or department budgets
    • Assists with personnel management functions
    • Facilitates office communications with the campus community
    • Prepares and maintains records
    • Processes and tracks purchase order requests
    • Supervises and provides staffing support

    Knowledge Required by the Position

    • University policies and procedures
    • Modern office practices and procedures
    • University purchasing policies
    • Computer operation and job-related software programs
    • Oral and written communication
    • Customer service provision

    Supervisory Controls

    - Assigns work in terms of general instructions. Independent judgment required.

    Guidelines

    - Department and university policies and procedures; purchasing procedures

    Complexity/Scope of Work

    - Consists of administrative and management duties. Requires accuracy and deals with frequent interruptions.

    Contacts

    - Typically with co-workers, college personnel, students, faculty, vendors, and the public to provide services or exchange information

    Physical Demands/Work Environment

    - Work performed at a desk or intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Occasionally lifts light objects.

    Supervisory and Management Responsibility

    - Direct supervision over personnel as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Specialized training in the field of work
    • Associate's degree or two years of college coursework
    • Experience in the relevant field

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience with software such as: Banner
    - 3-5 years of office or secretarial experience

    College of Education

    • Coordinates new hire paperwork
    • Assists in facilities requests and event coordination
    • Prepares schedules and calendars
    • Maintains files, records, and office inventory
    • Arranges travel
    • Answers phones and greets visitors


    Annual Salary: $31,000 with excellent benefits and generous leave time

    Anticipated Hire Date: 07/08/2024
