Quality Compliance Engineer
, through solid knowledge of all products, product documentation, and proficient understanding of all ASTM, CPSC, and NHTSA standards will assist with and support efforts relative to product safety, compliance, meeting customer expectations, brand positioning, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Product Focus
Responsible for documentation quality review/approval or audits, documentation maintenance and archival, quality inspections of products, and leading internal assessments.
Investigates and performs Root Cause Analysis on adverse and safety-related issues.
Serve as primary point of contact for the Technical Writer in review and development of instruction manuals, revisions to artwork, and competitor product compatibility, when necessary, as new products are developed.
Review and approve instruction manuals, warning labels and other product safety documentation.Perform product testing and document detailed results and findings.
Using broad-based experience, work with design teams to focus on brand excellence in usability, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Maintain product certifications and correct non-compliance findings of regulatory and approval agency inspections.
Develop quality test plans and test matrices for strollers and CRS and ensure execution to set standards through on-site collaboration with test centers and manufacturers.
Customer FocusOversee review of all customers returns and help troubleshoot potential issues.
Work with consumer services and customer returns to better understand key consumer issues and develop countermeasures.
Serve as a quality liaison for internal and external customers.
General Administration
Develop and maintain expertise in applicable regulations, including but not limited to:
Provide ongoing reinforcement of compliance and quality culture.
Drive quality system on product enhancement projects associated with regulatory changes.
Review and draft proposals to implement changes to the quality system procedures/forms as needed to maintain compliance and improve effectiveness and efficiency as well as the impact of proposed changes to our products.
Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g. ASTM, CPSC, and NHTSA)Develop and maintain product qualification plans.
Maintain expertise in evolving industry and regulatory standards, trends, quality management, software, and applicable tools.

Experience & Education
BS degree in engineering required.
Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant quality/engineering experience.
Experience in the consumer goods industry preferred.
Experience in juvenile product standards (ASTM, CPSC, and NHTSA) a plus.
Proficient understanding of the product development process and common materials used in the manufacturing of juvenile products.
Strong command of quality systems, data analysis, documentation practices, and processes.
Knowledge of manufacturing:
injection molding and plastics.
Skills & Competencies
Excellent mechanical aptitude with "hands-on" knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
Strong analytical, deductive, and reasoning skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including report writing & presentation skills, communicating with people from diverse backgrounds and varied abilities (e.g. technical and non-technical staff).
Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment remaining poised under pressure or opposition.
Experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing workloads and deadlines, as well as managing and following through on multiple tasks.
Demonstrates the organization's core competencies and strong customer service skills. Flexible and willing to pitch in as needed.
Seeks continuous improvement in all tasks and processes.
Ability to effectively interact within all levels of the organization.
Technology
Proficient with SolidWorks, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Office; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Ability to quickly acquire proficiency with new skills and technologies.
Other
Ability to work extended hours as business needs warrant; may include nights and weekends.
Ability to lift a minimum weight of fifty (50) lbs.
Domestic Travel:
monthly as business needs warrant.
Occasional International travel as needed.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
