    During a time of strength, momentum, and growth, McCallie seeks an experienced and dynamic Digital Communications and Social Media Manager to join our Marketing and Communications team.

    The Digital Communications and Social Media Manager will play a crucial role in promoting McCallie's brand as well as informing and engaging with the school community through various digital channels. The primary purpose of this position is to significantly enhance the online presence and brand visibility of McCallie School. This person will develop and implement a cohesive content strategy across all digital platforms. They will be responsible for managing social media channels and creating content for those platforms such as posts, images, videos, and stories, and for managing the school's website. This role includes photography as a core responsibility and strategy in capturing the essence of school life, events, activities, and achievements that showcase the school's vibrant atmosphere.

    The targeted outcomes for this position are:

    1. Enhance engagement and interaction with current students, parents, alumni, and the broader community through compelling digital communications and social media content
    2. Drive a significant increase in admission inquiries by showcasing the school's unique value proposition, academic programs, extracurricular activities, and success stories
    3. Enhance fundraising efforts by leveraging digital communications and social media platforms to increase donor participation and fundraising
    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Create compelling visual content through photography to highlight school life
    • Attend events and activities outside of regular business hours as needed
    • Collaborate closely with other departments to coordinate photo shoots, ensuring the timely capture of key events, initiatives, and academic achievements
    • Maintain and update the school's website with fresh content, ensuring accuracy, relevance, alignment with brand guidelines, and optimization for user experience and search engines
    • Develop a robust social media plan across key platforms (established and emerging) to engage a growing number of families as they learn about and deepen their understanding of McCallie
    • Develop and implement content strategies to elevate brand visibility, increase admission inquiries, and enhance constituent engagement
    • Utilize engaging visuals and impactful messaging to effectively communicate with prospective families, current students, alumni, and other stakeholders on all social media platforms
    • Lead the management and optimization of the school's social media presence across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others, ensuring consistent messaging, social listening, and engagement with constituents
    • Monitor and analyze social media and website analytics, deriving actionable insights to increase performance and enhance engagement
    • Develop and maintain an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
    • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our company, competitors, and/or industry, both from existing leads and customers as well as from brand new audiences
    • Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels
    • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in digital marketing and social media, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth
    Requirements

    The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field
    • Proven 1 to 3 years experience in digital communication with a focus on content creation, and social media management
    • Proficiency in using digital platforms, including social media management tools, email marketing software, and content management systems (CMS)
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights to drive decision-making
    • Strong photography skills with a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in capturing various subjects and events
    • Flexibility to attend events and activities outside of regular business hours as needed
    • Proficiency in Canva, Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar photo editing software
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for design and visual aesthetics
    • Experience working in or knowledge of the education sector, particularly independent schools, is a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
    • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
