    Job Summary Under direction of the Laboratory Supervisor, provides diagnostic laboratory test results.

    Ensures proper collection and preparation of patient specimens, performs lab test procedures according to protocols, instruments, and evaluates information taking suitable action as required.

    Laboratory Procedure Manuals and Safety Manuals are accessible for reference during and after individual training.

    It is the duty of Laboratory staff to follow approved procedures by the Lab Director and propose revisions when necessary.

    High school diploma or equivalent required.
    Meets basic standards and qualifications for lab testing personnel under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Subpart M, Section 493. Knowledge of lab tests and procedures provided by the SHS Lab.
    Understanding of physiology and pathology concerning clinical diagnosis and treatment.
    Basic grasp of lab medicine principles in the context of medical clinical lab testing.
    Familiarity with medical clinical instrumentation and ability to operate complex lab equipment.
    Proficiency in phlebotomy.
    Work Hours are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

    Full-time role operating on an academic calendar with potential academic break lay-offs (e.g., spring break, summer break).
