Position Highlights
The Arizona Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Arizona invites applications for a Anatomic Pathologist IV (Pathologist IV) position. The successful candidate's- duties include a diverse workload with companion animals, livestock, wildlife, and some exotics. The position also brings the opportunity to work with our welcoming and inclusive faculty and staff as well as being a part of Research, Innovation & Impact (RII)'s community.
The laboratory is one of the original twelve laboratories partnered in the National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN) and participates in supporting the Cooperative Extension's Arizona Livestock Incident Response Team (ALIRT). ALIRT was designed to enhance the diagnosis of unexplained mortality events in livestock.
There will be opportunities to work with and mentor veterinary students as well as continuing education opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Necropsy Service
o Directs and conducts necropsy examinations on all species, including gross examination, histopathology, interpreting results of ancillary testing and writing reports of results.
o Case coordination
• Biopsy service
o Conducts histopathologic examination of surgical biopsy specimens from all species.
• Collaborates with internal other pathologists/section heads, histotechnicians, cytologists, and all other departments as appropriate to incorporate as appropriate new practices and approaches for varied and complex cases as they arrive for determination.
• Consultation with colleagues, practitioners, shelters, law enforcement and local, state or federal agencies
• Communicating with clients orally and in writing with clients and stakeholders
• Writing and interpreting test results
• Participation in the Quality Management system
• Additional duties may be assigned
