Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Recommends and implements cost and quality improvements.
2. Identifies process problems and deviations through continual evaluation of yield, quality, energy, and production data.
3. Utilizes technical knowledge, experience, and common sense in the modification of existing processes and design of new processes.
4. Develops and prepares engineering and operational estimates for capital improvements.
5. Prepares project scopes, schedules and coordinates work between in-house resources and various contractors.
6. Prepares equipment specifications.
7. Prepares cost analyses and technical reports.
   
   Incumbent must possess an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline with at least three (3) years related experience in an industrial environment. Incumbent must have a well-developed business understanding, working knowledge of customer requirements and demonstrate a balance between analytical and creative thinking. Incumbent must also be a self-starter who seeks responsibility and is able to work with minimal direction. Incumbent must have demonstrated a willingness to challenge conventional ideas, be flexible, innovative, and be able to function effectively in a team environment. Incumbent must be proficient in personal computers and related databases. Computer skills required include knowledge of spreadsheets, database, and word processing software on PC based systems. Incumbent must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Incumbent must possess strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate and effectively motivate others to promote a positive work atmosphere.

8. Must have a well-developed understanding of a Lean Manufacturing Environment including 5S, PDCA, Standard Work, Kaizen, TPM, and other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
9. Must be able to develop an understanding of business financials and must have proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Must have integrity and effective communication skills as well as strong organizational and computer skills are required. Incumbent must have good technical skills and the ability to develop the plant processes.
11. Incumbent must have a well-developed business understanding, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong inter-personal skills, and the ability to both communicate effectively with and to motivate others and to promote a positive work atmosphere.
12. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees within the company.
13. Incumbent must be a self-starter who seeks responsibility and is able to work with minimal direction.

    While performing the duties of this job, an employee is typically required to have the ability to coordinate movements, regularly stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, crouch, and kneel during a work shift, work in confined spaces, have manual dexterity, select and use appropriate equipment/tools to accomplish job duties.
    
    Ability to speak and read English, follow all instructions and other oral/written information.
    
    Visually inspect equipment/work area, complete paperwork and other documentation accurately, identify, analyze, troubleshoot and solve issues using judgement, react quickly as needed, be organized and detail oriented, be able to identify/judge the urgency of a situation, use judgement in decision making, communicate effectively with others, be aware of oneself in relation to surrounding equipment, and work independently. Ability to instruct/transfer job information/knowledge to others is preferred. Some business travel will be expected while performing duties and assignments.
