    Who We Are Searching For:

    River's Edge Group Home is a therapeutic residence located in Thompson, CT, adjacent to JRI's Susan Wayne Center of Excellence. The facility caters to adolescent girls facing behavioral, mental health, and cognitive obstacles.

    We are in need of Residential Counselors to actively contribute to the growth and progress of young individuals who have encountered significant emotional hurdles. Our team members are dedicated to acquiring effective skills to enhance their service to these individuals, demonstrating innovative engagement strategies, and ensuring a secure environment for their success. We take pride in our ability to maintain consistent, structured routines while delivering twenty-four-hour supervision and hands-on care.

    Work Schedule: Full Time, 2nd Shift, and Per Diem Positions Available

    Compensation: $19 - $21 per hour

    Given the demanding nature of our role and the reliance of the youth on our support, occasional overtime may be necessary.

    Responsibilities:
    • Execute direct care duties within the group home.
    • Supervise students in the residence while adhering to safety and security protocols in accordance with agency policies.
    • Set a positive example and exhibit appropriate professional conduct for staff and students. Manage assigned special projects from the Administrative Team.

    Qualifications:
    • Minimum age requirement of 21 years.
    • High School Diploma mandatory; some college education preferred.
    • Prior experience in a group home, residential setting, or mental health facility is advantageous.
    • Possession of a valid Driver's License.
    • Training at JRI will cover physical interventions and verbal de-escalation techniques for fostering a safe therapeutic environment.
