    General Summary of Position
    MedStar Washington Hospital Center is expanding their team at the Cancer Institute and is actively looking for a full-time Clinical Pharmacy Specialist I to join their crew in Washington, DC. This role mainly involves weekdays with rotating weekends.

    Current Oncology PGY2s are recommended to submit their application.

    Under minimal supervision, offers an advanced level of direct patient care pharmacy services for an assigned, specific patient group to ensure proper patient care according to professional standards and practices. Provides guidance and consultations to patients, families, as well as medical and nursing staff. Participates in research and drug use outcomes management initiatives within the specialty area; mentors and trains pharmacy residents and students. Acts as a role model to clinical pharmacists.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Education
    • Doctoral degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited college of Pharmacy required or equivalent Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy required
    Experience
    • 5-7 years of hospital experience (with at least 4 years in a specialized area) required or
    • Completion of PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residency required or
    • Completion of a PGY-1 plus 2 years of direct patient care experience in a specialized area required
    Licenses and Certifications
    • PHARMD - Licensed Pharmacist in the District of Columbia required
    • Board certification in area of specialty required; Current PGY2 is allowed up to one year from hire to obtain board certification
