    By joining our Division of Planning Data Management Branch as a Resource Management Analyst I in FranklinCounty, you'll have the opportunity to collect and maintain data in the Cabinet's Highway Information Systemdatabase, as well as the Linear Referencing System or Centerline data for the Cabinet.

    Holders of the Resource Management Analyst I position will complete tasks such as:
  • Learn to plan, schedule, and coordinate the collection of transportation planning data in the field or from collected software for use in Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) reports and other KYTC customers.
  • Learn to analyze transportation planning data for quality control of the data and to fill customer requests.
  • Learn to provide technical assistance and training to others regarding transportation planning data for the purpose of better interpretation and practical use of the data.
  • Perform database and spreadsheet operations to prepare transportation planning data for customers and contractors to ensure data is more readily usable by the customers.
  • Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:
  • Experience analyzing transportation data for quality control
  • Experience reviewing planning highway information system documentation for technical accuracy and for compliance with established procedures and contract documents
  • Experience performing searches, additions, edits, and quality assurance control to large roadway datasets.
  • Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
  • Basic Understand of Roadway Data
  • Experience with GIS Software
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with large sets of data.

Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of systems analysis, business administration, or public administration experience.
    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Related technical or vocational training will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year for year basis. A master's degree in computer science, business or public administration will substitute for the experience requirement.
    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in computer programming, systems analysis, information services, research and statistics, business administration, or public administration will substitute for the bachelor's degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
