    Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is now accepting applications for an Assistant Football Defense Coach (Special Teams Coordinator / Defensive Backs).

    The position is a 0.72 FTE, 12-Month position in the Athletics Department and reports directly to the Head Football Coach.


    The Assistant Football Defense Coach (Special Teams Coordinator / Defensive Backs) assists the head coach in all facets of the program to develop an elite NAIA Football program that will be competitive and advance the team in the competition, academics, and in the community.

    The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to lead, teach and coach student-athletes in a challenging environment with a strong defensive football mindset.

    The assistant coach will have a strong focus on recruiting and coaching instruction as well as building a strong and successful team culture.


    The EOU Assistant Football Coach demands a capable and deeply committed professional who is a great teacher and a person of character.

    The Eastern Oregon University Assistant Football Coach is expected to adhere to the NAIA Coaches Code and EOU's Athletic Department's guiding principles:


    • Support the physical, emotional, social, and mental development of student-athletes through a robust system of care and support that produces quality student-athlete experiences.
    • Support high standards for academic excellence, assisting in academic oversight.
    • A competent pursuit of athletic excellence shown by competing for Frontier Conference titles and participating in NAIA postseason play by advancing to the national championships.
