- Support the design, analysis, and testing of electrical systems for our hybrid-electric aircraft.
- Assist in developing avionics systems and equipment.
- Utilize communication protocols such as CAN-bus, ethernet, and serial for electrical systems.
- Support power distribution, power electronics, electrical energy storage, and electric machine testing.
- Conduct printed circuit board bring-up and testing.
- Design electrical harnesses for communication and power throughout the aircraft.
- Create test fixtures for data acquisition systems.
- Provide support for telemetry systems and other assigned duties.
- Knowledge of industry standards.
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience with digital communications architectures and grounding schemes.
- US Person status (Citizen or Green Card holder).

Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer at Electra
We are actively seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems for our prototype aircraft and the emerging 9-passenger eSTOL hybrid-electric aircraft. This role involves focusing on PCB design, test fixtures, electrical prototyping, avionics testing, and system integration, mostly based in Manassas, Virginia, with some hybrid work flexibility.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, aerospace, or a related field, with 6+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in hybrid-electric propulsion systems, power electronics, and electrical system development is required. Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to adapt to change are essential.

Work environment includes warehouse/aviation and office settings, with safety precautions in place. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
Location:
Position is at the headquarters in Manassas, VA, with 3-4 days in the office and some virtual work permitted.
