    As a Junior Information Assurance Professional, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity measures to protect information systems

    Key Responsibilities:

    Assessment and Compliance:

    • Assist in the implementation of security controls and measures to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards
    Contribute to the creation and management of Plans of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) to address identified vulnerabilities and weaknesses.


    DoD Cybersecurity Tools:
    Gain proficiency in the use of essential DoD cybersecurity tools such as:


    • Host-Based Security System (HBSS) for endpoint security.
    • Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability scanning and configuration assessment.
    • Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for system hardening.

    eMASS and Documentation:

    • Learn and contribute to the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) for managing Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and documentation
    Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation related to cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls.


    Incident Response:

    • Support incident response activities by participating in the identification, containment, eradication, recovery, and lessons learned phases of security incidents.

    Training and Awareness:

    • Participate in cybersecurity training programs to stay current with the latest developments in cybersecurity practices and technologies
    Assist in creating and delivering cybersecurity awareness training to staff members.


    Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to address cybersecurity concerns and implement security best practices
    Communicate effectively with team leads and senior cybersecurity professionals to provide updates on tasks and projects
    Job Requirements

    Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

    Experience: 1-2 years of experience in years of experience in information assurance roles within a DoD environment.

    Certifications:
    Security+ or equivalent DoD-approved baseline certification
    Willingness to obtain additional certifications based on job requirements.

    Technical Skills:
    Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, tools, and technologies.

    Communication Skills:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Adaptability:
    Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technologies, and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Team Player:
    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

    Security Clearance:
    Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required
    The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship
