    Position Title: Business Intelligence Architect

    Classification: Information Systems Specialist 8

    Salary: $7,149 - $10,826 ($7,646 - $11,578 PERS)

    We are seeking a Business Intelligence Architect to join our Office of Finance and Information Technology at the . This is a permanent position represented by the .

    This role is a hybrid of remote work and will need to report to the office when business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities. Remote work is embraced to the fullest extent possible without interfering with business.

    What you will do

    Are you ready to be the architect of transformation? This new position will be pivotal in developing ODE's Business Intelligence Program.

    As ODE's Business Intelligence Architect you will:

    Innovate:

    • Provide critical elements in the development of ODE's Business Intelligence Program, ensuring tools and technologies are in place for optimal data analysis and visualization.
    • Drive research and evaluation through sophisticated data ecosystems that enhance public transparency and support business line evaluation and metrics reporting.
    • Exhibit passion for solving the challenges of today to better understand the needs of the future.

    Collaborate:

    • Work closely with internal and external partners including other state agencies, universities, data stewards, IT staff, research analysts, program managers, and directors to set the standards for data visualization, reporting, and dashboard development.
    • Develop and oversee methods, procedures, and oversight committees to ensure data reporting integrity and effectiveness.

    Empower:

    • Provide expert technical assistance to users, ensuring they can leverage the full power of the Business Intelligence Program.

    What you need to qualify

    Seven (7) years of information systems experience in business intelligence.

    OR

    An Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field, AND 5 years of information systems experience in business intelligence.

    OR

    A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience in business intelligence

    OR

    Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in business intelligence

    Desired Attributes (what we are looking for):

    • Demonstrated knowledge of developing, deploying, and maintaining complex report and dashboard projects.
    • Demonstrated experience with utilizing data to inform business outcomes and strategic decision-making and in providing reports to executives and leadership to inform business priorities.
    • Demonstrated skill in data reporting, design, configuration, testing, implementation, and customer support.
    • Strong understanding of relational databases with advanced working knowledge of writing SQL queries and experience with SQL Server.
    • Strong understanding of data reporting, dashboard, and visualization toolsets such as Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau.
    • Strong ability to analyze and QA data, identify data integrity issues and make recommendations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to summarize complex business and technical issues to non-technical audiences.
