- Ability to speak, read, and write a specified foreign language as designated by the district office preferred. Current language priorities: Pohnpeian, Chuukese, Spanish
- High school diploma or GED required. Relevant post-secondary education preferred
- Demonstrated connections within the community & knowledge of community resources and agencies available for problem resolution
- Knowledge of the development, needs, and characteristics of school age youth
- Emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved
- Demonstrated computer skills required
- Possession of a valid and appropriate Iowa Driver's License
- Able to provide proof of auto insurance in amounts and coverages acceptable to the district
- Full-time (8 hours), August 1 - June 15
- Includes district-paid single health insurance

Summary: Assists school staff, students, and families with attendance, school/community involvement, and other related issues and acts as a school and community advocate providing a connection among student(s), parents, school, community and social service agencies. Provides a communication link between schools, teachers, students, parents, and community organizations regarding established or available procedures, standards, programs, services, and activities. Requires initiative and motivational skills as well as a knowledge of and familiarity with the community, its resources, and its people.
