    Todd & Sargent has specialized in design, engineering, and construction for the ag industry for 90 years and we are looking to add to our Industrial Projects team to help us expand our presence in the industrial ag processing markets including oilseed, biofuels, biochemicals, liquid processing, food ingredients, feed ingredients, pet food, and beyond. We are looking for a Construction Manager with at least 10 years of experience that can be responsible for the overall success of these projects.

    The Role:

    As a Construction Manager with Todd & Sargent, you will play a pivotal role as the lead representative onsite, serving as the face of our organization in the dynamic realm of project execution. In this crucial position, you will not only drive the project culture but also set the tone for safety expectations, ensuring that our commitment to a secure and productive work environment is upheld. As the linchpin of successful project delivery, you will bring leadership, expertise, and a passion for excellence.

    Supervision and Coordination

    • Guide the project teams to ensure effective management of project scope, schedule, budget, execution, and communication.
    • Manage work sites for new-construction as well as operating facilities, coordinating activities and ensuring that all work is in the sync with project goals and objectives.
    • Effectively manage subcontractors and vendors when doing groundwork to ensure that quality standards are being met.
    • Coordinate with engineers, architects, and others working on the project.
    • Prepare and manage estimates, budgets, timetables, and resources.
    • Identify, mitigate, and track construction issues.
    • Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements.

    General accounting and bookkeeping

    • Assist in month-end account reconciliations and reports.
    • Prepare and post journal entries.
    • Assist with other general accounting tasks as they arise.

    Planning, Scheduling, and Buyout

    • Lead weekly site coordination meetings between all stakeholders.
    • Ensure the project schedule is maintained, updated, communicated, and implemented in accordance with the company's commitment to the project, the owner, and trade partners.
    • Ensure all required permits are acquired timely.
    • Accountable for coordinating the timely delivery of materials and overseeing the efficiency of equipment and materials buyout, ensuring a seamless and well-organized construction process.

    Cost Control

    • Establish and maintain project cost control using the company's systems and procedures.
    • Monitor and manage all costs and budgets for the duration.
    • Effectively manage change order process.
    • Lead the preparation of the cost to complete forecast and margin analysis each month.
    • Submits and reviews monthly project update with the President, CFO and other leaders regarding project progress, forecasts, and issues.
    • Ensure compliance with the project's profit plan and application of the contract's provisions relative to the company's compensation.

    Contract Administration

    • Ensure full compliance with and administration of all project contracts and subcontracts.
    • Evaluate subcontract and supplier proposals for the project and ethically negotiate best prices, scope, and performance possible.
    • Prepare and negotiate subcontracts and material contracts for the project.
    • Ensure understanding of occupancy certificate processes in all relevant jurisdictions and agencies.

    Relationships and Communication

    • Responsible for maintaining strong client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships.
    • Help ensure T&S is the contractor that clients, subcontractors and vendors want to work with.
    • Effectively communicate with owners, internal resources, field employees, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers in a timely manner.
    • Understand the project expectations and communicate with all parties involved.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • At least 10 years of experience in Industrial Construction managing both greenfield projects as well as work in operating facilities.
    • Knowledge of industrial construction methods and technologies and an ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
    • Knowledge of building-code requirements.
    • Understanding the intricacies and interdependencies of a project schedule.
    • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors simultaneously with an eye for quality.
    • Knowledge of construction worksite safety practices.

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience with last planner system
    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering or related field
    • Professional certification, such as CCM (certified construction manager), AC (associate constructor), or CPC (certified professional constructor)
