    Role Description

    As Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the CEO and will be the senior financial executive responsible for

    overseeing and managing all financial operations, strategies, and decisions for the company. This critical

    leadership role is focused on driving financial performance, enabling strategic growth, managing risk, and

    ensuring financial compliance.

    The CFO will be a key member of the executive team, leading the finance organization and partnering with

    leaders across the business. The CFO will provide financial acumen, insight, and strategic guidance to influence

    company-wide planning and support operational success.

    Core responsibilities span financial reporting, planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, capital

    allocation, cash flow optimization, financial systems, and team leadership. The CFO will build and implement

    financial processes, controls, and reporting tools to drive growth, minimize risk, and maintain regulatory

    compliance.

    business acumen. They have a proven track record overseeing finance for a mid-large sized high-growth

    company. Their background demonstrates excellence in financial management, cross-functional leadership, and

    driving operational performance.

    The candidate is a solutions-oriented, forward thinker who can translate complex financial information into

    strategic business insights. They have successfully led finance teams, ERP implementations, process

    improvement initiatives, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and more.

    They thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment. Their financial acumen and leadership skills enable them

    to be a trusted advisor to the executive team during a high-growth phase. MBA or CPA credentials are preferred.

    CFO Responsibilities


    • Develop and execute short-term and long-range financial plans, budgets, forecasts to support strategic

    growth.


    • Lead accounting, financial reporting, general ledger in compliance with accounting standards and

    regulations.


    • Direct financial systems upgrades, integrations, and process improvement initiatives.


    • Guide capital allocation, cash flow optimization, banking relationships, and investments.


    • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cost management and financial performance measurement.


    • Recruit, develop, and manage high-performing finance and accounting teams.


    • Represent the company externally to investors, financial partners, public auditors, etc.


    • Advise the CEO, executive team, and Board on financial matters related to strategic plans, growth

    opportunities, and key business decisions.

    Experience and Education


    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field


    • MBA or CPA strongly preferred


    • 10+ years overall finance experience with 5+ years as CFO or senior finance leadership role


    • Expertise in technical accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and systems


    • Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams and organizations


    • Track record of driving process improvements and optimizing financial performance

    A Day in the Life of the CFO

    As CFO, no two days are exactly the same, but your days will typically involve:


    • Starting the day reviewing financial reports, dashboards, and key metrics to assess company financial

    health and identify any issues needing attention.


    • Leading the daily operations of the finance team, connecting with direct reports to prioritize deliverables,

    address challenges, and align on goals.


    • Attending key executive meetings, providing financial perspective and guidance on major business

    decisions and strategic plans.


    • Managing relationships with external partners including investors, financial institutions, auditors, etc.,

    communicating key financial information.


    • Driving critical finance functions like budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, accounting, reporting, and

    variance analysis to guide business performance.


    • Guiding process improvement initiatives across finance systems, controls, procedures to increase

    efficiency.


    • Leading financial planning and analysis for potential new initiatives, expansions, or other growth

    opportunities.


    • Connecting with cross-functional leaders to advise on financial drivers, cost management, and potential

    business risks.


    • Developing regular executive reports, board presentations, analyses to communicate financial results and

    influence strategic plans.


    • Managing, developing, and motivating the finance team, ensuring proper staffing, tools, and policies are

    in place.


    • Continually enhancing your knowledge of accounting standards/practices, tax laws, finance best

    practices, and industry trends.

    The CFO wears many hats on a daily basis, working cross-functionally as a strategic business partner, while

    overseeing the finance function with an eye to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and driving the

    bottom line.
