- Prepare complex returns for business and individual clients and conduct research as necessary
- Meet with clients and prospective clients to discuss their engagement needs and questions; analyze issues and identify additional services
- Compile, prepare, review, and maintain financial data and records for assigned clients and ensure all financial data are recorded consistent with established policies and procedures
- Review work completed by other staff
- Delegate and manage work flow, engagements, and projects to ensure timely completion
- Be involved in the management, development, and training of staff
- Develop new clients and market additional services to assist with firm growth; meet or trend upward towards $600,000 targeted revenue objective
- Accurately report and release time consistently; manage staff compliance per firm procedures
- Maintain strong realization on revenue billed with a target goal of 90% or above
- Follow firm accounts receivable policy and cease work on clients with a balance of 90+ days; as bill manager, call the client for collections and/or to set up payment terms
- Complete billing on time and target billing above 80% of beginning WIP
- Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues; make recommendations
- Mentor and lead staff, demonstrated by the ability to manage client relationships, and the desire to be an intricate part of business development and marketing strategies
- Market firm services to existing and prospective clients
- Continually work towards a technical expertise in practice area and identify ways to become more valuable
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university
- CPA required with appropriate equivalent work experience
- 5+ years' experience preparing progressively complex individual and corporate tax returns as well as the ability to efficiently perform research on client tax issues

Job DescriptionSalary:As our firm continues to grow with our new office in the Scottsdale area, we are looking for a Tax Manager who strives to perform at a high level of service. Under minimal supervision, this individual can work independently and is a strong self-starter.
Under limited supervision, the Tax Manager plans and executes engagements from start to finish, performs complex tax preparations and reviews, tax research and tax planning functions. This individual is also responsible for coordinating engagement workflow, managing staff, and is the liaison between the partner, client, and staff.
