    Job Overview

    We are seeking a highly motivated college student to participate in a summer internship as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for Pearson's Q-interactive product. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to work with a skilled team of engineers to establish and execute quality assurance and compliance processes for Q-interactive's web and mobile applications. You will work with development, testing and product teams to create, publish and execute software quality assurance plans to ensure the delivery of high caliber software applications. You will also learn to conduct test planning, write test cases, and perform manual testing. Finally, you will define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, test results, and test status.

    Location: Austin, Texas (may be required to go into office on occasion).

    Time Frame: Approximately June through August

    **Primary Responsibilities **

    • Review and validate requirements and technical specifications.
    • Develop and execute test plans and detailed test cases based on requirements.
    • Document results; offer observations or improvements after analysis of test results and overall product quality.
    • Collaborate with the development team on bug fix verification and validation.
    • Support, design, develop, and enhance test processes and reporting of QA processes.
    • Perform manual tests and develop automated test scripts as needed for applications using defined standards and software engineering best practices.
    • Communicate professionally at all levels both inside and outside of the organization.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to work full-time in a hybrid (in person/ remote) environment at Pearson's Austin, TX office.
