    Job Description:


    ANGARAI's Construction Project Engineer (CPE) with demonstrated expertise in field construction management will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of major interstate and interchange construction projects.

    Responsibilities will encompass overseeing various construction activities, conducting quality assurance and control, administering contracts, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring the safety and risk management of the project.

    This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in highway engineering, particularly in bridge and roadway construction projects.


    Major Roles and Responsibilities:
    The roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    Construction Management:
    Take charge of overseeing construction activities on bridge and roadway projects. Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and industry standards. Collaborate closely with contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders to facilitate smooth project progress.

    Quality Assurance and Quality Control:
    Maintain stringent quality standards throughout the construction process. Conduct regular inspections to verify compliance with quality criteria. Review and approve construction materials, carry out tests and inspections, and address any non-compliance issues. Ensure comprehensive adherence to quality control procedures.


    Contract Administration:
    Be responsible for the administration of construction contracts related to bridge and roadway projects. Interpret and review contract documents, encompassing plans, specifications, and contractual terms. Monitor contractor performance, approve progress payments, and manage any contract-related claims or disputes. Maintain meticulous records and documentation pertaining to contract administration.


    Stakeholder Coordination:
    Act as a key liaison among diverse stakeholders involved in the project. Coordinate with project owners, design consultants, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies to foster effective communication and collaboration. Address stakeholder concerns, provide routine project updates, and facilitate cooperation among all parties engaged in the construction process.


    Safety and Risk Management:


    Prioritize and enforce safety on the construction site by adhering to safety regulations and practices aimed at reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.

    Conduct thorough safety inspections, promote awareness of safety procedures among the construction team, and ensure the implementation of suitable safety measures.

    Identify and proactively mitigate potential risks and hazards associated with construction activities.


    Minimum Qualification and skills:


    Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or structural engineering from an accredited college or university approved by the Engineer's Council for Professional Development or approved by the Maryland State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.


    Current registration as a professional engineer in the State of Maryland or in a state with equivalent requirements is also considered as meeting educational prerequisites.


    A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, Resident Engineer, or equivalent, with direct involvement in construction management and inspection of maintenance of traffic, structural, highway repair, and building facility projects for major interstate/interchange construction projects.
