- Secure new bequest intentions for LCV and LCVEF.
- Manage the John Jay Harris Society, maintain relationships with existing planned gift donors, and enhance the Society's reputation.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from potential donors through phone, proposals, and email, addressing their questions and concerns about planned giving.
- Arrange visits with donors nationwide to secure new gifts and reaffirm commitments.
- Collaborate with the major gifts program to suggest cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
- Ensure donors are acknowledged upon gift notification, update donor records in the database as necessary, and maintain communication with estates.
- Expand the pool of potential donors to include more individuals of color using innovative methods for identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
- Educate current and prospective donors on the organization's work in racial justice and equity.
- Perform other assigned duties.

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) focuses on making environmental values a priority at national, state, and local levels.
LCV, together with state LCV partners, works to promote effective environmental laws and policies, hold elected officials accountable for their decisions, and elect candidates who prioritize environmental issues.

LCV is in search of a Gift Planning Officer to join their skilled fundraising team and expand the planned giving program to support strategic fundraising goals.
The primary role of the Gift Planning Officer involves identifying, cultivating, and monitoring prospects interested in making planned gifts to support LCV or its sister organization, LCV Education Fund.
Collaborating with the Senior Director of Development Marketing, the Gift Planning Officer will develop and enhance a planned giving program model to ensure sustained support for the organizations and future initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
Work Experience: Over 3 years of fundraising experience, with a proven track record of engaging with donors and securing gifts.
Direct experience in qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting planned giving prospects, including developing strategies from identification to stewardship. Proficiency in estate planning, planned giving strategies, and tax treatments required.
Issue advocacy, organizing, or political fundraising experience is advantageous. Familiarity with direct response marketing is a plus.
Skills:
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; self-driven; demonstrates sound judgment; able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Must possess creativity, diplomacy, proactivity, discipline, and strategic thinking ability.
An attentive listener with a talent for building relationships and representing the organization effectively.
Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills, database navigation proficiency.
