    Electrical Helper

    Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly

    Reports to: Electrical Superintendent

    Supervisory Responsibility: None

    Location: Jacksonville, FL ( Imeson Facility - North Jacksonville )

    Summary Objective

    The Electrician Helper will coordinate and work as a team with other electricians and helpers for the responsible of installation, wiring and testing of electrical components of chilled water systems. Responsibilities include task assignments, inspections and technical problem solving.

    Essential Functions:

    • Gathers tools and supplies according to instructions
    • Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit, using ruler and hand tools
    • Drills holes for wiring, using power drill, and pulls or pushes wiring through opening
    • Traces out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter
    • Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects, such as wiring, conduit, and motors
    • Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order
    • Install electrical components and associated raceway systems as per design
    • Monitor and maintain a safe work environment
    • Responsibilities may require sedentary work, including but not limited to computer operation, video review, classroom or online training, job observations/inspections, and peer work review.
    • Prepares for ISO 9001 and other audits.

    Work Environment

    This position operates out of a fabrication facility. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. First shift days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    Second shift days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Occasional weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Travel

    Travel is primarily not required with exception to local travel during the business day.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Basic math and language skills

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • 2+ years of experience exclusive to industrial electrical installation
    • Knowledge concerning transformers, LVMCC, HVMCC, etc.
    • Extensive and documented industrial electrical gear knowledge

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Must have dependable transportation, valid driver's license, clean back-ground check and random drug screening consent.

    Work Authorization

    Must be authorized to work in USA.
