The Director of Maintenance
Basic Function :
Develop and administer effective standards of quality and airworthiness for Company aircraft. Assure, through continuous analysis and surveillance program, that these standards are consistently achieved.
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
that all technical publications are at a current revision status. Prepare and submit revisions for approval.
that all maintenance performed on company aircraft is done in accordance with approved Aero Ways, Inc. manuals and the Federal Aviation Regulations.
for quality control of company aircraft components and monitoring the continuing analysis and surveillance program.
for instituting improved inspection procedures and methods which would tend to enhance the quality and economic efficiency of maintenance.
for editing the accuracy of all aircraft log books and the accompanying maintenance schedule forms.
flight hours and cycles on all Aero Ways, Inc. aircraft for daily computer entries. Hours and cycles can be called in, faxed in, or emailed. Responsible for updating the Aircraft Inspection Status Report.
publish, and distribute spreadsheets depicting hours/cycles remaining for aircraft inspections and selected time controlled parts and technical directives on a regular basis.
Spreadsheets are for planning purposes only. All scheduling is based on computer times.and maintain all engine and airframe logbooks. Verify and audit all associated computer tracking of power plants components, inspections and overhauls.
for weight and balance functions including distribution and maintenance of weight and balance manuals.
periodic checks on all Inspection tools and the calibration of precision test equipment. Coordinate a necessary with Purchasing/Supply to ensure that all tools are in calibration.
the activities for all the contract maintenance agencies.
Make required recommendations and reports including but not limited to utilization, airworthiness compliance, chronic discrepancies, mechanical interruptions, and reliability reports.
for attaining all necessary forms from the maintenance contractors for all such work done.for the maintenance of all Aero Ways, Inc. Maintenance Manuals assigned to contract maintenance agencies, for example, revisions, alert bulletins, etc.
for the final selecting, training, qualification and authorization of personnel for RII authority.
for certification of all parts and materials used in the repair of, modification of, or overhaul of all company aircraft, components, and associated parts.
the require SDR and MIS reports and forwards them to the FAA.person may serve as Chief Inspector unless that person meets the requirements of Aero Ways, Inc.
In addition, that person shall know the maintenance portions of the General Maintenance Procedures Manual, FAA approved Operations Specifications and the applicable maintenance provisions of SS CFR 135.
Chief Inspector is responsible to ensure that the Maintenance personnel are adequately trained and receive ongoing training with regard to the specified job functions.
Will work in the scheduling of classes, schools and also develop the training curriculum.Is also responsible to see that personnel are designated to the assist with maintenance training are properly utilized and follows standard record keeping requirements.
mechanic training folders as required to record all training conducted, including date, hours of instruction, subject and attendance.training in problem areas that were identified by the Continuous Analysis and Surveillance Program
in training outstation contract maintenance A& P Mechanics.
duties and responsibilities may be delegated to qualified maintenance training assistants as required.
the Chief Inspector may delegate his duties to a qualified person he may not delegate his responsibility.
trained and qualified under SS49 CFR to ship Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) via commercial carrier.
directs and coordinates activities within the Inspection Department and plans activities in conjunction with other departments
the accuracy and retention of all Maintenance and Inspection records
Maintenance Training program and Maintenance Training record keeping
MELs are kept to latest revision
the GMM revision process and submits same to FSDO for acceptance
a future team of inspectors and administrators to ensure compliance with GMM and regulatory requirements
conformity inspections on aircraft going onto the company FAR part 135 Ops Specs and ensures aircraft on Ops Specs remain in conformance with company and regulatory requirements
training modules, techniques and programs to ensure department activities are properly conducted and documented
Chief Inspector must feel comfortable with PCs (MS Word & Excel, EBIS, CAMP and Airplane Manager) and interacting with customers and vendors via phone, email, text, online forums and in person.
Must have 10 year plus experience In an FAR Part 135 operation.Frame and Power Plant License
