We contribute to building communities, cities, and the world.The Prototype Lab Technician, under general direction, conducts advanced test projects including unit performance evaluation, laboratory and field data acquisition, test fixture design and development, compliance of products to safety standards, as well as, accelerated testing of subsystems and components.
Documents, summarizes and reports findings to Test Engineers for action.This role is on-site in the Product Development Lab, in Perry, Oklahoma. Evaluate prototype and production units in laboratory conditions according to established and/or newly developed safety, durability, and performance standards.
Gather data on the performance of products and prototypes to include programming of data acquisition with computer-controlled DAQ systems (i.e. Maintain daily logs and may write periodic, interim, and final data summaries as required.
Perform required maintenance, teardown and inspections of test units and record findings for inclusion in reliability and maintainability summaries.
Design, arrange for the construction and development of test equipment and fixturing for component and/or entire unit testing.Participates and/or lead field/lab improvement projects, safety initiatives, adherence to safety protocols and additional operational needs
Participate in quality initiatives and training as needed, and support company Quality policy.
At the time of a job offer, the Prototype Lab Technician job title will be determined based on the following criteria:
Technician I:
Technical College Graduate 2-yr certificate +1 year of experience -OR- a minimum of 3-6 yrs
Technician II:
Technical College Graduate 2-yr certificate +5 years of experience -OR- a minimum of 7-11 yrs
Technician III:
Technical College Graduate 2-yr certificate +10 years of experience -OR- a minimum of 12+ yrs.
Technical College graduate with a minimum of two-year certificate + 1 year of experience in a Mechanical/Electrical field –OR 3 to 12+ years of experience in a Mechanical/Electrical Technician field.
Experience with data acquisition devices and precision test equipment is preferred.Proficiency in MS Office Applications is required. 3D modeling experience a plus.
Must be able to work independently and in team environment supporting cross-functional staff members.
Some travel will be required to local field test sites for data acquisition and equipment performance evaluations in varying weather conditions.
