    Description

    Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program, is dedicated to healing the invisible wounds - including post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injury, anxiety, depression, co-occurring substance use disorder, family relationship challenges and other issues associated with Military service - for Veterans of all eras, Service Members, Military Families and Families of the Fallen through world-class clinical care, wellness, education, and research.


    The Home Base Program is seeking a dynamic and motivated Per Diem Strength and Conditioning Specialist to implement and maintain multiple Health and Wellness Programs designed for the benefit of veterans and their families.


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist in the design and creation of daily fitness plans for the Warrior Health and Fitness Program participants, as well as leading groups through designed plans as needed.
    • Assist in the implementation of predesigned educational exercise sessions for the Home Base 2-week Intensive Clinical Program (ICP) as needed.
    • Assist in the active recruitment Veterans for the Warrior Health and Fitness Program as needed.
    • Assist with onboarding, initial assessment, and collection of base line metrics of Veterans and family members entering the program consisting of diagnostic fitness evaluations, physical fitness testing and coordination of educational classes on mind body medicine, nutrition, and sleep as needed.
    • Assist with maintaining closed private group social media platforms disseminate and share information of upcoming workouts, check -ins, nutrition, mind body medicine information and resource sharing as needed.

    CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) from NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association
    • Certified CPR/AED/First Aid from American Red Cross

    EDUCATION:

    • Bachelors Degree Required

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Required: Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
    • Preferred: Veteran with service in Iraq or Afghanistan
