    Summary for

    Master Scheduler:

    The primary Master Scheduler accountability is the successful management of inputs for demand, supply, volume and mix to formulate the balanced demand and supply at the aggregated volume and mix detailed levels.

    The Master Scheduler will provide a strategic overview of all customer demand requirements ensuring the effective and efficient use of company resources.

    Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison with Sales, Production, Engineering, and Shipping departments.

    Additionally, this role is responsible for participating in the Sales, Inventory & Operations (SIOP) cycle and leading collaborative efforts with cross functional teams in the execution of the SIOP plan and achievement.

    Duties and Responsibilities for

    Master Scheduler:

    • Collaborate with Sales, Department Heads, and stakeholders to understand schedule requirements, objectives, and milestones.
    • Prepares master schedule to establish sequence and tact time to meet customer shipping dates according to customer orders, production schedules and resources.
    • Works with Sales and Production on customer expedites and schedule changes.
    • Analyzes production specifications and facility capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools and personnel requirements required to attain master schedule.
    • Plans and schedules workflow for each manufacturing department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
    • Works with the Production Planning Team in the management of the production schedule to achieve customer requirements and SIOP attainment.
    • Identify and assess risks, issues, and conflicts that may impact the schedule, and develop mitigation plans.
    • Regularly update and maintain the master schedule by incorporating changes, updates, and adjustments as necessary.
    • Monitor job order progress and identify any deviations from the schedule, taking proactive measures to address delays or other issues.
    • Manage aged Work In Process (WIP) identifying opportunities and plans to reduce WIP on the production floor and to identify and resolve prolonged jobs in WIP via metrics and team meetings.
    • Conduct regular meetings and discussions with production and sales teams to review and analyze project status, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions.
    • Engage in SIOP development and planning with accountability on reporting status updates and risk mitigation(s) as required by schedule status.
    • Provide accurate and timely analysis, reports, and visualizations that communicate schedule status, key metrics, and performance indicators to management and stakeholders including SIOP status.
    • Manage schedule delinquencies supporting SIOP attainment and job date achievement.
    • Responsible for qualitative and quantitative analysis data for process metrics supporting SIOP goals and attainment plans.
    • Responsible for long and mid-term planning cycles utilizing rough cut capacity overview and validation to current capabilities. Identify risks and associated mitigation(s) plans to ensure compliance with current and future requirements.
    • Participate with team members on defining best practices for schedule management and adherence.
    • Collaborate with procurement and production resource management teams to ensure alignment between the schedule and resource allocation.
    • Confers with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects and schedule attainment.
    • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
    • Prepares production status reports and alerts management to discrepancies.
    • Continuously improve scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Performs related duties as required.
    Qualifications:

    3 plus years in a production control position in a high-volume manufacturer of products for the military.
    Skills and Abilities for

    Master Scheduler:

    • Experience with ERP systems, Epicor preferred.
    • Excellent mathematical ability to evaluate and assess resources and variables that impact production.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain working relationships with various departmental representatives.
    • Strong use of Microsoft Excel tools such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
    • Necessary computer skills to track and document various schedules, projects, and resource availability.
    • Ability to evaluate and document information in an understandable format for management review.

    Working Environment:

    • Manufacturing floor and office environment
    • Extended periods of time spent on production floor communicating with technicians, engineers, assemblers and supervisory personnel
    • Extensive use of computer and specialty software programs, i.e., Microsoft Office Suite
    • Exposed to minimum to moderate noise levels on production floor
    • Minimum lifting of 20 pounds or less
