    Summary



    The ideal candidate for this position will have program management experience related to levee projects, knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and FEMA's flood mapping program, and strong written and oral communication skills.



    Duties


    What will I do in this position if hired?

    In this position, you will support the Risk Mapping, Assessment, and Planning (Risk MAP) program under the National Flood Insurance Program. Typical assignments include:

    • Applying broad technical knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and project management knowledge and skills to develop and manage levee mapping projects through their lifecycle.
    • Composing program strategy documents related to levee certification and public outreach needs to be used to guide regional projects and actions to successfully achieve outcomes.
    • Establishing Local Levee Partnership Teams (LLPTs) with communities and stakeholder groups to develop solutions related to the mapping of levees on Flood Insurance Rate Maps. Required to plan and manage multiple projects concurrently. Assigned projects may be considered highly visible, controversial, or have significant interest to the public and other stakeholders.
    • Meeting with various stakeholders to discuss proposed opportunities for developing mapping solutions, planning studies, resolving conflicting viewpoints, and addressing concerns.
    • Obtaining and maintaining credentials as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) and apply those skills to manage contracts and financial assistance agreements to support planning and implementation of projects.
