- Reviews accounts payable transactions for coding accuracy and sales tax applicability, routes invoices for approval, and processes vendor payments through the accounts payable system. Supports and assists with annual 1099 reporting.
- Maintains proper vendor documentation and records for new and existing vendors including OFAC scanning.
- Reviews assigned expense reimbursement reports for proper documentation and accuracy, and follows up with employees as needed.
- Processes general ledger journal entries including depositing checks, generating the appropriate entries, and uploading them to the general ledger system.
- Assists with and maintains daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations and investigates exceptions.
- Cross-trains to assist in other areas of the division.
- Assists with month-end close.
- Assists with internal and external audit requests.
- Performs ad hoc tasks/projects as assigned by senior management.
- Complies with all banking laws and regulations, and maintains the confidentiality of bank and customer information.
- 3+ years recent accounting /accounts payable experience plus a bachelor's degree in accounting or similar OR 7+ years recent prior accounting/accounts payable experience without a degree.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting concepts and procedures (i.e. accounting transactions, debits, credits, reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaids/accruals)
- Intermediate computer skills
- Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills
- Highly detail-oriented and analytical with the ability to use available resources to solve problems
- Ability to work independently and to exercise prudent judgment, within deadlines and time-sensitive constraints, as well as within a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally, and in writing
- Software: Microsoft Excel (Intermediate) and Word (Intermediate); Adobe Acrobat
- Software: Exposure to enterprise GL and reconciliation software programs
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting
- Reconciliation experienced
- Working knowledge of state sales taxability rules
