    The Applications Engineer will design electrical/mechanical products for hazardous areas using basic electrical engineering

    concepts. Engineer will work within a team and must be able to cooperate with other coworkers to ensure

    the success of a project. Effective communication plays a role between Engineering, customers and other

    departments.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Design and develop electrical/mechanical configure items such as terminal boxes, local control

    stations, and small control panels for hazardous (classified) locations

    • Create engineering documentation for each project/design
    • Ensure that the drawings and all the production documents conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical specifications and technical drawing
    • Assists Sales and Quality to ensure optimum service and customer satisfaction
    • Provide production with technical assistance
    • Provide technical assistance as needed for customers
    • Perform various engineering tasks by operating computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
    • Review and approve engineering documentation provided by external groups
    • Work with a variety of technicians
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
    • 1-2 years of work experience in designing local control stations
    • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills
    • Must provide technical assistance to the sales team, production, and customers
    • Skilled in reading design specifications and technical drawings
    • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and work with a team
    • Strong commitment to the performance of quality work and a disciplined work ethic with a positive attitude
    • Experience in a client-responsive technical environment
    • Skilled in both verbal and written communication
    • Ability to travel less than 10%
    • Basic Knowledge of hazardous areas standards including, but not limited to, ATEX, IECEx, and NEC.
    • Experience working with Engineering Base (EB) preferred
    • Experience working with a CAD package
    • Ability to use MS Office suite
    • Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems
